• By private car: this is the only way to get there that we know of so far. From Comitán it is about 30 minutes (21 km) along the road to San Francisco Uninajab. There is parking on site.

Duration: a visit to swim and walk around can take an afternoon; diving takes up almost the whole day (starting in the morning).

• Swimming in the cenote.
• Hiking (a trail of about 1 km).
• Kayaking (rental around $200 MXN per hour).
• Diving (a separate activity: arranged on site and taking up almost the whole day, as it includes training for beginners).

No booking required to swim: access is direct during opening hours. Diving is arranged directly on site.

• By car: to the town of Tzimol and the agency.
• By combi van: there are vans from Comitán to Tzimol; from there you reach the agency, which handles transport to the waterfalls. We do not have the exact van stop location, so ask the locals.

The agency is open every day, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Duration: 4 to 6 hours. Important: book at least one day in advance.

• Guided tour of the Tzimol reserve.
• Waterfall jumps.
• Rappelling.
• Swimming in natural pools.

• Getting there (taxi): from downtown San Cristóbal, take a taxi to the caves. Around $160 to $200 MXN per trip.
• Coming back (combi van): catch a combi back to San Cristóbal nearby or out on the main road (around $35 to $45 MXN per person). Ask the locals to find it more easily.

Estimated visit time: about 2 hours to explore the park, the caves and take a boat ride.

• Explore the caves and see the mammoth-shaped rock formation.
• Rent a boat and paddle about 100 meters along the river ($35 MXN per person).
• Ride a zipline (around $150 to $250 MXN per person).
• Camp overnight.
• Buy snacks on site.

No booking required — just arrive during opening hours. There is currently no contact phone.

• By car: you can drive directly to the archaeological site.
• By public transport (combi van): head to Periférico, Tercera Avenida Sur Ote s/n, Candelaria, 29950 Ocosingo, Chiapas (the combi terminal serving Toniná) and ask for the vans going to the ruins. The fare is about $35 to $45 MXN. To return, catch the combi at the same spot where it dropped you off.

Estimated visit time: 3 to 4.5 hours if you explore every area slowly, including the site museum, and stop for a meal.

• Explore the archaeological site and step inside its structures.
• Visit the site museum.
• Horseback riding is sometimes available (around $50 to $150 MXN).

No booking required — just arrive during visiting hours. The site is managed by INAH, the Mexican National Institute of Anthropology and History.
